According to the Shifted Librarian blog, the DOK Library Concept Center in Delft, Holland has pioneered its own form of digital signage:
Amazingly, the information system is a Wii channel, and every one of these navigation TVs spread throughout the building has its own Wii attached to display the channel! the administrative backend can be accessed by staff via a web browser for easy updates from anywhere.
